There’s nothing like family traditions and for many, building a gingerbread house together is a special part of the holiday season.

“We’ve been coming here every year for 12 years to do this with all our grandchildren,” said Leslie Polson. “They look forward to it, they start talking about it about a month before, ‘gingerbread, gingerbread, gingerbread.'”

Her four-year-old grandson, Archie, agreed, "It’s so fun!”

I can’t accurately describe who I am without talking about sports. Soccer has played such an important role in my life, and is more than just a hobby. For me, soccer has been formative – it has shaped my character, exposed me to new experiences, and opened doors to numerous opportunities.

It’s incredibly inspiring when a child grows to recognize what they are truly capable of and starts to believe in their potential.

CST’s partnership with Career Trek in Manitoba aims to help children and families along that journey.

Career Trek is a not-for-profit organization which helps young people discover the importance of education and career development, by offering hands-on experience with various jobs.

It's "Take Your Kid to Work Day" and honestly, coming into the building, I didn’t know what to expect.  As soon as I walked into CST Consultants Inc., I could tell that there was a great community feel and everybody knew each other and were all super polite.

I also met two super cool guys, Omar and Theo, to enjoy this great experience with.

As a forty-something executive, I sometimes reflect on when I was young (and hopefully not too foolish), on how great it would have been to have had the benefit of knowing what I know now, back when I was just starting out.
