For me, marine biology has been something I have wanted to pursue as a career before I even really appreciated what that would entail. When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would always answer “marine biologist”, without fully understanding what education I would need or how I would get there.

I feel lucky and proud to be a Canadian student because our country is so diverse and accepting of everyone. Being a Canadian student gives me the opportunity to go to an institution that has all the resources I need at my fingertips, in order to succeed in my career endeavours. Throughout my education, my opinions and ideas have been welcomed by my peers and teachers, which has helped shape me in to a more confident individual. I feel privileged to have a Canadian education.

Canadian parents searching for government grants for education

If the government presented you with extra money, would you take it?

You don’t have to imagine this. This already happens. Really.

The thing is - not everyone is aware that the government contributes money to Canadians saving in a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP). It’s an incentive for families to save for their children’s future.

It’s easy. You put money into an RESP, the government adds education savings grant funds. It’s kind of like having exclusive access to money for the future.

I can’t accurately describe who I am without talking about sports. Soccer has played such an important role in my life, and is more than just a hobby. For me, soccer has been formative – it has shaped my character, exposed me to new experiences, and opened doors to numerous opportunities.

The rising costs of university tuition and fees

We hear it all the time.  “Tuition is expensive.”

The numbers prove it.  Statistics Canada has found in the past 10 years, the average university tuition has jumped from $4347 to $6373 - an increase of 46%!

That’s not the only post-secondary fee that’s on the rise.

Grad Award Group

Saving long term isn't easy but it's worth it.

Just ask our 2015 CST Graduate Award winners.  Each of them are gifted individuals who are not only talented but also give back to others and their communities.  For example, saving sea turtles in Costa Rica or investigating the economics of Brazil’s coastal regions or performing in orchestras around the world.
